Today we went to the Queens Medical Centre Hospital in Nottingham. It was very interesting to learn about how to save lives and what to do when we are faced with an emergency. We can all help someone now by remembering DR's ABC.
D is for Danger
R is for response
S is for shout
A is for Airway
B is for Breathing
C is for CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation)
We were taught how to put someone in the recovery position and deal with someone who has been injured but isn't unconscious.
We were taken on a tour of the Children's Ward and shown lots of the different pieces of equipment that is used such as a pulse and oxygen monitor and the needle used for stitching up nasty cuts. Afterwards we all had our fingers put into plaster - it was lots of fun and we learnt a lot about what goes on in a hospital and most importantly how to cope if we see someone injured.

This trip was great! I really liked putting on the bandage on my finger. I coloured blood onto it aswell!(almost everybody did).

I loved going to the hospital it was fun and i wanted to go again. The CPR thing was awesome and it was good as well when we had to do it with a doll i think. Mrs Keely you should have come to the hospital because it was good.
I love the trip is was the best because we has a bandage on my hand.

The trip to the hospital was so cool i am so happy that i know how to do CPR since i could save someones life, it was great to see what the hospital was like.I know everybody had fun, and i now really want to be a doctor or a nurse.:)
The trip was amazing we had lots of fun! We scared our brothers and sisters and joked that we broke our fingers in a bus crash.All of us were putting our parteners in the recoverey position.

I think going to queens medical center has taught all of us a lot, that will help us in the future.If somebody gets hurt then we will have skils to do DR'S ABC.This was a very important health and safety trip.Everyone had a lot of fun!
I really enjoyed going to QMC it is one of,my favorite trips. When we got there they had teached us how to save peoples lives. And we done some acting.
